 When to go to India
The best time to travel to the south of India is between January and September, but the north-eastern regions of India are most pleasant weather-wise between March and August.

The mountain regions of India are best during the summer, between May and September.

Climate in India: The climate of India is mainly temperate, though it varies slightly according to region. Really hot weather, when it is dry, dusty and unpleasant, is between March and May.

Coolest weather lasts from December to February, with cool, fresh mornings and evenings and dry, sunny days.

Monsoon rains occur in most regions of India in summer between June and September.

Required Clothing for India: Light- to mediumweights are advised from March to October, with warmer wear for winter in India. Weather can change rapidly in the mountains and therefore it is important to be suitably equipped. Waterproofing is advisable.
